About
I’m Fainite Auguste, a filmmaker and storyteller based in New York. My work explores intimacy, memory, and the quiet moments where identity and emotion intersect. I’m drawn to stories that live in the gray areas; where love, fear, and survival coexist, and I aim to capture those tensions through a lens that’s both tender and unflinching.
My creative practice spans film, writing, and visual storytelling, often centering on women navigating loss, self-discovery, and connection. Whether I’m developing a short narrative or a documentary-style project, I’m interested in how personal stories can open up broader social conversations about resilience, justice, and what it means to be seen.
I’ve worked with students and communities as an educator and mentor, experiences that continue to inform the empathy and authenticity I bring to my filmmaking.
Currently, I’m developing new projects that blend narrative and experimental forms; exploring how silence, space, and gesture can hold as much truth as dialogue.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me watching films that make me feel too much, taking long walks, or searching for the next story hiding in plain sight.
